Dr. Eric Muraoka

Dr. Muraoka started Downtown Dental Lab in partnership as a side passion project in 2015.  It all started with WHY.  Why do dentists have to be subject

to such low quality restorations for their patients?  These types of questions kickstarted an obsession of making higher quality restorations

for his own patients in his dental practice.  This research and development phase saw our lab transition from operating completely analog to nearly 100% digital.

During this time, we also researched and tested the widest range of materials and honed in our process of creating beautiful restorations that wouldn't break the bank.  

Since then, Downtown Dental Lab has been offering better restorations for the dentists and people of Hawaii.  We've since expanded our vision of offering better solutions

for dentists in everything they can offer their patients.   We offer everything from intraoral 3D scanning, CAD designing, Implant solutions, and finally milling and printing solutions.

Dr. Muraoka has been lucky to have had the opportunity to partner with some big names in the industry.  He is currently a Key Opinion Leader for Envisiontec 3D printers.

Dr. Muraoka's most recent passion is helping other general dentists learn how to place their own implants with guided implant solutions so that their patients can receive the best care possible.

Darron Chidrawi

Darron Chidrawi is a certified Dental Technologist from Cape Town, South Africa. In 2001 his employer had purchased the first Sirona InLab in Africa where his CAD-CAM journey started. Around 2004 Darron was instrumental in developing other CADCAM systems such as 3Shape and Dental Wings.

In 2008 Darron successfully launched a dental laboratory in Cape Town called Dental Evolution Laboratory. In 2012 Sirona championed Darron to be a Sirona inLab trainer and Key Opinion Leader.

Since then Darron has conducted many international trainings seminars and lectures specialising in the field of Digital Dentistry.

Darron was later appointed as a Diashine® Polish Ambassador and has a special interest in Photogrammetry and All on X treatments, digital shade-taking systems and its protocols. Darron recently became a certified eLAB user.

Esthetics and Implantology are Darron’s specialties and he has a strong belief in continuous education and growth.

Darron is joined the Downtown Dental Lab team in Honolulu, Hawaii in 2020 whereby focusing on Crown & Bridge work and Implantology.

He is passionate about his dental craft and is a continual student of the profession, systems and materials.

James “Kimo” Mayo

Mr James “Kimo” Mayo is a legendary technician from Hawaii boasting over 40 years in our profession and is a qualified CDT Dental Technician and is the co-owner and Chief Of Operations for the laboratory in all aspects.

Kimo can do it all with the precision and speed that most technicians can only dream of. He is a master with the 3shape designing system.

Not only is Kimo a talented and highly decorated dental technician, he is a champion Tennis player, taking out the last Hawaii State championship in his age group, one of many trophies in his cabinet.

He has a deep love for playing music and masters various instruments.

Kimo also has a deep love for the ocean, fishing and sharing many stories with his family and friends.
